Don't wait until the last minute to take advantage of this rare opportunity to see the iconic clay artifact on display alongside other significant objects from the Achaemenid Empire of Iran in an exhibition entitled  The Cyrus Cylinder & Ancient Persia: A New Beginning. Inscribed on orders of Cyrus the Great, the cylinder has been referred to as one of the earliest declarations of religious and political tolerance.

 

Due to high demand, the Getty Villa has extended its hours to 9:00 pm on Saturday December 7th and Sunday December 8th.

Visiting the Getty Villa

The Getty Villa is open Wednesday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with special Saturday hours during the Cyrus Cylinder exhibition of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is closed Tuesday and major holidays. Admission to the Getty Villa is always free.A ticket is required for admissionTickets can be ordered in advance, or on the day of your visit, at www.getty.edu/visit or at (310) 440-7300. Parking is $15 per car. Groups of 15 or more must make reservations by phone. For more information, call (310) 440-7300 (English or Spanish); (310) 440-7305 (TTY line for the deaf or hearing impaired).
